Join Anastasia at her sunny Strawberry Creek Park ceramic studio to make your own serving platters for the holidays.
The workshop will begin with a short demo of how to use the basic method of slabs and moulds to create beautiful, organic platters. The rest of the time will be spent making! Students will have a choice of several gorgeous glazes for their pieces, which will be glazed for you after the workshop has ended. Your work will be ready for pickup the following weekend.
What’s Included
— Instruction in a bright and clean ceramic studio
— Hand tools, molds, formers, wheels, molds, textures, sponges
— A choice of several glamorous glazes to finish your pieces with
— 6Ibs of clay per student, enough to make one large serving platter
— Kiln firings (bisque and glaze)
Bring to Class
— Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (or an apron)
— Closed toed shoes
Cancellations
All sales are final. No cancellations, returns, or refunds will be granted. You may find a friend to substitute your spot in class. Please handle the payment privately, and send new student contact information to art@anastasiatumanova.com to complete the exchange. Please note a minimum of 5 people is required for this class to run. If you’ve enrolled and we don’t reach the minimum you will be issued a full refund.
Student Agreement
You’ll be provided a standard waiver and student agreement to sign digitally or at the start of class, which go over studio policies and protocols. Nothing out of the ordinary, just your usual "be a good studio citizen" stuff!
Please note my studio is not wheelchair accessible, there is one flight of stairs into my studio.

INSTRUCTOR
ANASTASIA TUMANOVA
Anastasia is a ceramic artist working in Berkeley, California. She has worked with clay since 2004, creating everything from traditional tableware, wall artwork, jewelry, large-scale ceramic installations, and sculpture. Anastasia has taught ceramics at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced level at The Berkeley Potters Studio, Dusted & Blue Studio, The Hamlin School San Francisco, and Clay Room San Francisco. Her work has been shown at West Coast Craft, Minnesota Street Project, Rare Device, Oakland First Friday, and Heron Arts. Her ceramic artworks have been collected by private collectors and clients such as Google, Disney World, SFMOMA, Virgin Hotels, and others. Anastasia regularly collaborates on high end art projects with interior designers and the art consultant world to create incredible ceramic design. Anastasia holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
