Team Offsite at Anastasia Ceramics | 6-10 People | 4 Hours

$2,200.00

Team Size: 6-10
Duration: 4 hours
Location: Strawberry Creek Park, Berkeley, CA
Level: All Levels

Let Anastasia host your next team offsite at her Strawberry Creek ceramic studio! In this team offsite, participants will spend a full day in the life of a ceramic artist in the Bay Area.

The day will begin with a catered breakfast and coffee/tea service at Anastasia's studio. We will let the coffee percolate our minds and slip into a creative mood for a day of creating with clay.

The first hour will be a focused guided group exercise to learn the fundamentals of slab construction, where the team will make one object with Anastasia's instruction, step by step all together. After the group exercise, there will be a live demonstration by Anastasia that up-levels the techniques learned during the group exercise. Following the demo, each team member will have the opportunity to make a project of their own choosing. There will be a break for a picnic lunch outdoors on the beautiful Strawberry Creek Park. After lunch, team members will return to the studio to finish their active projects.

Team members will learn fundamental slab construction techniques, how to make basic ceramic forms with simple methods and tools (such as cups/mugs, platters and plates, vases, etc.), how to share space in a communal studio environment, how to harness their creativity and materialize their ideas into tangible results, and make unique pieces with their hands by shaping, carving, texturing, and sculpting clay. There will be a show and tell of the work made during the offsite at the end of the day so that the team can celebrate each other's creative ideas and efforts in the studio!

Participants will have their choice from several beautiful glazes to finish their pieces — glaze service will be provided by Anastasia after the workshop's end. Finished and glaze fired work will be packaged all together and ready for pickup the following weekend.
